Are you a Sinner? Read and Discuss : The Seven Deadly Sins Wednesday, October 27, 2010


Are you interested in Sin? Delve into selections from the Great Books' Foundation's new volume, The Seven Deadly Sins Sampler, and discover why, according to Dartmouth professor of ethics and human values Ronald M. Green, these short stories "remind us that most of our problems arise in the hidden recesses of the human heart."

Scholars Richard Wizansky and Deborah Luskin will lead the discussions. All discussions begin at 7 PM in the Library's meeting room.

For October 27 read about the sins of Pride and Envy through the writings of William Faulkner, "A Rose for Emily" and Flannery O'Connor, "Good Country People", and Edith Wharton, "Roman Fever

Books are available for loan at the Main Circulation desk.
